Our History

From the very beginning

Founded in 1996, ASEQ | Studentcare was the result of student union leaders joining forces to enact a common vision. Together, they were committed to offering the post-secondary community health and dental plans that would always be simple, empowering, and reliable.

As part of this vision, ASEQ | Studentcare has consistently worked to demystify insurance coverage and help over a million students effectively manage their health care. We were the first student health and dental plan administrator to launch an in-house member services centre, and the first to introduce secure online opt outs—providing students with more flexibility and customization than ever before when it comes to their health care. Now, we're the largest student health and dental plan administrator in Canada, serving over 1,000,000 students and over 100 student associations and post-secondary institutions across the country.
